For the Children’s Sake Board of Directors

FTCS is registered as a non-profit organization in both the USA and Kenya. Our boards have overlapping membership.

Our USA Board is composed of American citizens and carries fiduciary responsibility for oversight of finances per our IRS 501(c)3 designation. All donations are collected and distributed from the USA.

Nancy Price, PhD, is a Founder of For the Children’s Sake. The many orphaned and vulnerable children, and their teachers, that she met in the slums of East Africa in 2006 touched her with a desire to help. Her many years of experience in teaching, school leadership, and organizational development of Christian schools was used by God to incorporate FTCS as a 501(c)3 that same year. “Children spend the majority of their waking hours in school! Training teachers to be effective educators able to integrate a living Christian worldview into every subject allows impoverished children to come to know Christ while learning important academic skills.”

William Price, PhD, MDiv, is an enthusiastic co-founder of For the Children’s Sake. With a PhD in physics, he has worked in Aerospace for 50 years, has taught seminary courses in Uganda, and worked on design projects with Engineering Ministries International in Africa and India. “I have the desire to do lasting good for vulnerable children in sub-Saharan Africa and take special joy in supporting all aspects of the ministry.”

Deborah Kukal, PhD, is a retired health psychologist who worked many years in both private practice and leading a hospital pain clinic. She serves on the board from a deep concern for individuals - especially children - who are struggling with overwhelming challenges.  "It is a joy to help these children and families find hope as they discover ways to express more fully the skills and talents God gave them.

Elizabeth Lange, MA, is a Latin teacher at a Christian school with a strong belief in the need for Christ-based education to help form children to know and serve God. She volunteered with For the Children’s Sake on a short-term mission to Uganda and Kenya where she experienced first-hand the need for teacher training for the many Christian schools serving the impoverished children she met. “My family and I love supporting the ministry of For the Children’s Sake. My own children are so blessed and we want to be a blessing to other

Garland, MATS, has worked in the pastorate alongside her husband for 38 years, but gravitates towards cross-cultural ministries, working with international students, missionaries, and refugees. Her heart for missions, particularly in Kenya was sparked during a summer there in 1986. So, serving and educating vulnerable Kenyan children immediately resonated with her. “Jesus cared for people—body, soul and spirit. For The Children’s Sake embodies this same holistic care for students and teachers, which in turn impacts families and transforms entire communities.”

Our Kenya Board includes Kenyan citizens who provide important spiritual insight, procedural wisdom, and contextual perspective on the ministry activities For the Children’s Sake undertakes in Kenya. For the Children’s Sake is registered as a Non-Governmental Organization with the Kenyan government and the members of our USA board also serve in a registered capacity on our Kenyan Board.

In 2022 she was our on-the-ground representative to facilitate all aspects for the establishment of Tenkaraki Inkera Demonstration School. “Serving on the board provides me with a profound sense of fulfillment, as it directly contributes to my passion for seeing schools operate with strong Christian philosophy and values.”

She currently serves as Project Coordinator with a Nairobi ministry, as a motivational speaker, and as a consultant to various NGO’S, churches, and Community and Faith Based Organizations in Kenya. “When we lift the vulnerable, God meets us at our own vulnerability and it's so edifying for everyone in this chain.”
